Perhaps the most telling response from the Chief Minister was to the inquiry about granting Minority status to Kashmiri Pandits. He refused consideration based on the fact that Pandits are Hindus and no different from other Hindus in the State, forgetting that his views are not shared by people who specialize in granting minority status in India.
